Overview
Krabi: Free diving and Snorkeling at Yawasam and Talu Island
Discover hidden free diving and snorkeling gems beyond Krabi’s famous Four Islands on a full-day adventure aboard a traditional wooden longtail boat. Swim among vibrant coral reefs and colorful tropical fish at secluded spots like Yawasam and Talu Islands, far from the crowds.
Start your adventure with a convenient late-morning pickup from your hotel or a designated meeting point. Meet your friendly local crew and hop aboard a traditional wooden longtail boat — your gateway to an unforgettable day of snorkeling, freediving, and discovery, far from the usual tourist trail.
Your first stop is the serene Koh Yawasam, a secret island tucked behind the well-known Four Islands. Spend around 30 minutes snorkeling in calm, clear waters, surrounded by coral reefs teeming with colorful marine life. Spot vibrant anemonefish — your very own Nemo — among rocky outcrops that rise dramatically from the sea.
Next, journey to the fascinating Koh Talu, a small island rising 45 meters from the ocean, known for its unique geological features. At low tide, swim through a narrow tunnel into Talu Cave, which opens into a natural lagoon around 30 meters wide — a hidden world shaped by centuries of erosion. Look out for the cave-dwelling swifts that call this island home, nesting high along the rocky walls.
Then cruise to the tranquil southern end of Koh Poda, where the secluded Buya Beach invites you to walk along its untouched shoreline and enjoy a relaxing swim in crystal-clear waters. Here, indulge in a traditional Thai lunch served right on the soft white sand, with time to soak in the calm atmosphere and coastal beauty.
As the day winds down, sail gently back across the Andaman Sea toward Ao Nang for stunning views of the Railay Peninsula, ending your journey with a smile and salt in your hair.
